City need to keep going the distance after bright starts

Manchester City running out of steam after being the best team out of the starting blocks

City along with Arsenal and Bayern Munich, in Europe’s top five leagues, scored more goals in the opening 15 minutes of matches than anyone else, with 13

But whilst Bayern, with 16, and Arsenal, with 15, scored well in the closing 10 minutes of matches for whatever reason City faded dreadfully with Mancini often bring on defensive players to close out matches and managed just four goals in this period out of the 60 they scored during the campaign

This was the worst by any side in the PL, one fewer than the next worst in the division by relegated Birmingham City

In fact only three teams in Europe’s top five leagues have scored fewer, and two of them were relegated, AC Arles and Deportivo la Coruna

At the other end of the scale their neighbours United led the way in the PL with 16 in the closing 10 minutes of matches
