Lionel Messi became the first player to score five goals in a Champions League match in Barcelona’s 7-1 win over Bayer Leverkusen

 

He joined Felipe Inzaghi as the only players to score three Champions League hat tricks; Messi is the first player to score three hat tricks for one club with Inzaghi’s split between Juventus and AC Milan
